Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working on a site (The Big Three) that would take Austin’s top local stories and combine them in one place. The idea was to find a way to scan the Statesman, the Chronicle, TV stations, and other sources for the most interesting pieces and display them at a single location.
Technically, it’s a news aggregator, but that term comes across as pretty tech-heavy. It’s also a way to practice link journalism: linking to sources on the web to enhance, complement, or add context to original reporting. (Hat tip to Scott Karp.)
It’s still not perfect, but it is interesting to tinker with. I’d enjoy any feedback.

Check http://outside.in/Austin_TX, I think it’s the same thing, but outside.in uses maps and tagging.
