One more update — the show is on the schedule for Antone’s, not La Zona Rosa. http://www.antones.net/index.cfm?Fuseaction=EventDetail&EventID=10180

However, word is that Al has canceled everything through the 30th, and this show is scheduled for the 28th. It’d be a super cool show if it happens.

Hi, Will, I’m not sure that date at La Zona Rosa is going to happen. I’ve read that Alejandro is still recovering from acute exhaustion. He’s set to play in Houston on Aug. 22, so the La Zona Rosa show could still happen, but I don’t see it on their site or on Pollstar.com, which are pretty reliable sources.

I spent years pouring over the show listings in the Houston Press praying for another Fitzgerald’s show. It never came to pass. I missed the reunion shows and I’m kickin myself. I heard that they are opening for Alejandro at LZR on 8/28. Is that right?

dammit… I missed it.

I hope they don’t take another 16 years to get back on stage. I caught only one show of theirs — a spectacular show as part of the “Party on the Plaza” series of evening concerts in Houston. Their power got cut off but they played right through it without a burble. Amazing.
