Beginning 2008 With Some Blasts for 2007

I’m beginning 2008 by catching up on a few things from 2007, and I’m glad for it. Today, I began implementing some of Steve Rubel’s suggestions to Turn Gmail Into Your Personal Nerve Center. The IMified program added to Google’s chat feature turns out to be impressively powerful. It’s funny to think that Steve wrote that initial post nearly a year ago, although a more recent one on How to Set Up a Portable Personal Nerve Center was the spark that drew me back to the original.

Also over the holidays I began reading William Gibson’s latest, Spook Country. I haven’t read his more famous earlier works, but I enjoyed Pattern Recognition a couple of years ago and have been head-down in Spook Country for the past few days.
