Greg Storey (via 37 signals) wonders whether leaving the SXSW panel submission process up to the masses is such a good idea.
My impression, taken from reading emails from SXSW Interactive Director Hugh Forrest, is that the panel picker site is designed to gather feedback on submitted proposals. The results figure into the final selection process, but do not represent the final selection itself.
