Jeff Wick of the San Angelo Standard-Times reports that Texas Monthly’s September cover story will be “50 Things We Love About Texas Football.” Wick was present when photographer Wyatt McSpadden attended the Angelo Football Clinic to get photos to accompany the story.
Expect photos of players and coaches from around the state, featuring established names like Spike Dykes, Bum Phillips and Bob Ledbetter, as well as rivalries like Abilene vs. Abilene Cooper.
On a lighthearted note, this would mark the magazine’s third “number-style” cover this year. April’s issue highlighted “75 Things We Love About Texas“, while June’s cover featured “20 Great Things to Do In, On, and Around Texas Lakes“.
