The folks at the Statesman’s Austin360.com website have assembled a nice multimedia package in the wake of the death of blues club owner Clifford Antone.
The main story by Michael Corcoran is supported by a photo gallery, an audio slideshow, reader-submitted photos, audio and video clips, and a guestbook where people can leave memorial messages.
Kudos to the Statesman and their online team for putting together a comprehensive package and allowing their readers to participate in one of the city’s biggest stories.
Update: As pointed out by Metroblogging Austin, Antone’s death caused the Austin Chronicle to change its planned cover for only the third time. The others were the deaths of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Doug Sahm. Chronicle editor Louis Black has more details in his Page Two column.
