Austin Film Society Planning More Online Content?
The Austin Film Society is looking for a webmaster. The job posting lists the expected qualifications, but there are some intriguing details listed under “Additionally helpful skills”
- Experience with Paypal and/or other online payment/commerce systems
- Online video preparation and streaming
- Blogging technology, RSS and podcasting
I hope those are promising signs from the AFS. The group does great work supporting local filmmakers, bring notable films to town, and managing Austin Studios. Their website is primarily one-way communication now. They could benefit from making local films available online and hosting blogs from members of the local film community. As with many non-profit organizations, the AFS budget is likely modest, but these are things that can be undertaken for little money.
